homemade lip gloss

Homemade lipgloss

As you know, I've been on a mission to cut down the chemicals we use in our life and replace them with natural products where possible. I've been using natural shampoo now for quite a few months and absolutely loving it, so I recently decided to make my own lipgloss.

The lipgloss is not completely natural as I still use a tiny amount of regular lipstick to give it colour, but it is a much healthier alternative than my old lipgloss was. I will be attempting to make a completely natural one in the future so I will let you know when I do but for now, I simply bought a tube of organic pawpaw ointment (be sure to get the organic one as some still added chemicals) and a cheap lipstick. I squeezed the pawpaw into a small make up tub (I think I bought the above from Woolworths quite a while ago), sliced a very small amount of the lipstick in and mixed.
The pawpaw has great staying power, it actually lasts longer than my regular lipgloss, and the beauty of this method is that not only is it more natural, but it is so cheap. It really is too easy, give it a try!

  1. I love your emphasis on cheap and more natural beauty products. Slowly but surely I am also trying to replace everything I used to use with something more healthy. New follower from the Mom Lovin Blog Hop!
