Uber Review: Sydney's Stylish New Transport Alternative

UBER Review

Ever wanted to feel like a celebrity with your own private driver?  Well now you can at just a fraction of the cost, and its all thanks to Uber.  Now before I start ranting about how much I love this app/service, I better explain that this is not a sponsored post.  I just loved my experience so much I couldn't wait to tell you all about it!

If you frequently need to get around Sydney (and Melbourne I believe, it's growing fast), but don't like the unreliability of some of the other modes of transport, then please give Uber a try, you won't regret it.

It is just too simple, all I had to do was download Uber, a new app for Iphones and register with them. When I wanted to be picked up I opened the app and clicked 'request sedan'.  It immediately showed me a picture of my driver, his name, the car and licence plates, and how long it would be before he arrived (which was 10minutes for the first ride and 4 minutes for the 2nd ride - wow).  The cars that turn up are private hire cars so you are travelling in style, and both my drivers were friendly, well spoken and very polite.

The app tells you when your car is about to arrive, then the driver gives you a call as he arrives.  Reliable, efficient and stylish?  I am sold.

The average fare apparently costs only 20% more than a regular cab, and to be honest, I would happily pay 20% extra for this reliable service.  Because I raved about how much I loved it, the awesome Uber staff are going to give you $25 off your first ride in Sydney!
